Mangers have good intuition and mostly want their organisation to improve, so why hasn't the Core Problem been solved? Something must be preventing the identification of a solution. Dr Goldratt's assertion is that it must be an inherent conflict, a conflict that deflects effort into a tug of war instead of into finding a solution to the real problem. The conflict is either identified as the source of the CRT or it is identified in the CRT. To find a solution we need to define the problem very precisely. This is done by: Clearly stating the objective of the cloud (the opposite of the Core Problem); highlighting the necessary conditions the things needed to achieve the objective, and then we need to highlight the resulting conflict.
