The TOC Thinking Processes

Dr Goldratt created the TOC thinking system to enable the generation and dissemination of new knowledge.  There are six thinking processes:

1. The Current Reality Tree (CRT) 
   (Negative Tree)

2. The Cloud (Cld) 
   (evaporating cloud)

3. The Future Reality Tree (FRT)
   (Positive Tree)

4. Negative Branch Reservation (NBR)

5. Prerequisite Tree (PrT)

6. Transition Tree (TrT)

Using The TOC Thinking Processes

The thinking processes are very flexible and are used in a number of different ways. The wholes set is used to analyse and develop a solution for a significant new subject matter and the whole set is used to develop a proper buy in process to overcome the six levels of resistance.

The cloud can also be used to resolve personal conflicts, and to improve empowerment.
